Graduating from the University of Oregon in 1987, he joined the firm Michael, Hopkins & Partners in London, working on projects such as the prestigious Bracken House. He eventually launched Eco-Id with another partner Calvin Sim, and has grown it to be a multi award winning architecture firm with offices in Singapore, China and Thailand. In recent years, Boon has been increasingly known as a boutique hotel specialist and his projects, The Sarojin, a luxury resort retreat set won the 2006 Conde Nest USA award for "Best 100 Resort and Spa". He was also given the "Best Resort Design 2007" for the W resort in Maldives from Travel & Leisure USA. Boon's other projects include the Metropolitan Hotel in Bangkok, Taj Hotel in India, Marriot Villas, the Ritz Carlton Serviced Residence in Singapore and many more. Boon is a firm believer that good architecture and interior design results from the clarity of progressive conceptual ideas taken rigorously through to the execution stage.
